The Chicago Biological Investigator was created in 2003 in order to provide undergraduates with an opportunity to publish their research in an academic journal even if the projects aren’t to the point where they are ready to be published in Nature or Science. Writing up results is nevertheless useful because it gives students practice formally presenting their research, which also lets other students, faculty and staff read about that research.

The Chicago Center for Systems Biology (CCSB) and the Conte Center for Computational Systems Genomics of Neuropsychiatric Phenotypes are offering two REU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates) programs this summer.  Both Centers seek qualified undergraduates for 2012 REU fellowships.

A limited number of Biological Sciences Collegiate Division 2013 Summer Fellowships are available for registered rising second and rising third year students Biological Sciences Undergraduate Students interested in conducting research during the summer in a University of Chicago campus laboratory.  Due to Fellow’s required participation in the 2013 Fall Quarter BSCD Fellowship Symposium, students applying must be registered to attend The University of Chicago camp
